Anyway, I'm sooooo close to reaching 70k. It was at 69-something-thousand. I just merged a bunch of dragons and got 3 second tier nests out of it. Merged all of them, and had 3 level 7 merges from that. I merged 1 of those, then thought about the fog and went to look. It's at 69,320-ish. Merged another level 7 gargoyle, and it's at 69,356.

Not if you harvest the glowing trees, they only give dragon leaves and the occasional amber, it makes creating dragon trees much faster. There's more. Much more. Actually, only 3 more plots, but they require 70k, 100k and 140k dragon power to unlock.

I can confirm merging spotted dragon eggs counts towards the quest, because it worked when I merged the spotted eggs from nests in Fear Isles 1.
